All summer I was working on and off for one of SaskCulture’s Artist Animateurs, Paul Wilson. Paul is the Poet in Residence at the Invisible Library, an ephemeral institue that collects books that exist only inside the stories of other books. I was very fortunate to collaborate with Paul on poetry comics at several festivals leading up to Culture Days as well as on bringing some of his poems about invisible books into comic form. As well, I gave comic workshops to some high school classes in some towns around Saskatchewan whilst touring our mini art-show/poetry-reading during CultureDays.
(naturally all words are by Paul Wilson, while all drawings are by me).
It was an immensely valuable experience, both creating poetry comics and spreading the word about Culture Days!
